• Applicants must be graduates of Buffalo High School located in Buffalo, Wyoming.

• Descendants (within the third degree) of Margaret Esther Bouton Thom and William John Thom are not eligible.

The Thom Scholarship does not have its own application process. Recipients will be selected from the participants of Buffalo High School’s general local scholarship application process.

• The number of recipients and amount of the scholarship is determined each year by the Board of Trustees.

• For the year 2025, four (4) applicants were selected, with each applicant receiving $12,000 per year.

• The scholarship is for four (4) years, payable at the start of each semester/term.

• Recipients must remain enrolled as a full-time student (typically 12+ credit hours per semester).

• No further scholarship money will be awarded in the event the student fails to complete the program or fails to maintain a 3.0 GPA.

• To receive funds, at the start of each semester/term, current recipients must submit a Scholarship Disbursement Form which includes important information along with verification of enrollment and GPA.
